About Marykate

During the school year I work as a school-based occupational therapist (OT). Although I won't be providing skilled OT services this summer, I'm enthusiastic about utilizing my background and expertise to serve as a handwriting tutor, dedicated to fostering your child's development in this area. I firmly believe in taking a holistic approach to working with each child. This means, honoring and supporting their sensory and regulation needs, in addition to addressing more academic-based skills. I prioritize utilizing a Neurodiversity affirming lens in order to ensure I'm serving the unique needs of each child. I take a play-based approach with young children, as research indicate this is how they learn best. For older children, I tailor my approach to use their unique interests, in order to make handwriting an enjoyable activity.
