About Mary

I am a retired attorney, mother of five children. I also have an 18-month-old grandson in California, and I really miss all the unconditional love given by the very young. My three eldest children graduated. I have boy-girl 16-year-old twins still at home. I am very affectionate and playful, even with infants. I talk to them and read to them and get excited about every developmental milestone whenever it may come. I like to use music of all kinds for aural and kinesthetic stimulation. I have observed that even the youngest enjoy group swimming, music and dancing. I was on the initial Board of Directors of the School of Arts and Sciences and served in that capacity as well as substituting for absent teachers for many years. Before that, I was one of the founders of the Tallahassee Home school Group. Although the group has veered away from its secular roots, it still meets every Thursday, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I drive by Optimist Park on Thursday afternoons.
