About Janina

Experience: 1 yr

My younger twin sisters were born when I was 13, and while both my parents were often at work--after coming home from school, I would make dinner for my girls, take them to our local park for exercise, make sure they have their baths and their teeth brushed, and tutor them in new subjects. I was also a part of a voluntary tutoring group called 'Reading Is A Fundamental Thing'. I was a part of this group for four years, it involved working with children from lower-income families in grades pre-k to the 5th grade. I would read to the younger children and teach them basic phonics to prep for a strong foundation in reading and writing skills. As for the older children (grades 3-5), I would prep them for the forthcoming Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. I would have to say that one of my favorite experiences in the mix is watching the children grow and helping them know as much as they were willing to learn. It is very important to me that all children are safe, constantly learning, and nourished.

To those looking for a skilled caregiver, It is with great pleasure that I provide a letter of recommendation for Janina . I can personally attest to Janina s capacity as a caregiver for any young or old person in need of a friendly and hard-working helper. From November 2009 to May 2012, Janina volunteered for a tutoring position at my literature after-school program. The objective of the program was to work with elementary school children that were falling behind on their reading and writing skills to improve their comprehension abilities and give them the critical thinking tools to succeed in their literature education. Janina was an outstanding participant among many volunteers; she demonstrated admirable dedication and tenacity without ever sacrificing the love and tenderness with which she taught; this is especially estimable when working with young children. For example, was a 2nd grader with attention problems that made it extremely difficult to get him to focus on the task at hand. On her own accord, Janina made it her objective to dedicate herself to working with this young student. After three months work ethic had transformed; not only was he focused but Janina had sparked an interest in learning within him that I rarely witnessed again in my four years running the program. As a tutor, Janina was observant and creative when dealing with each student. In fact, more often than not, her students developed genuine affection toward her amiable and understanding personality. I find it important to highlight that even though her personable quality stood out, this never overshadowed her capacity to create an effective learning space for her students. Over the years, I have gotten to know Janina personally. Janina has demonstrated a dependable and cooperative character. For example, a year ago, she helped me establish a composting operation at New College of Florida in Sarasota. Even though it was not her obligation, Janina was willing to give her best effort to compost for more than 800 students. I would not have successfully established this program without her help. In addition, Janina is the big sister of two twins, currently age 8. Janina has been a mentor and best friend throughout their life. It is through this experience that I believe Janina gained the skills that make her a dependable and skilled caretaker. For these reasons, I strongly believe that whoever hires Janina as their caregiver will not only be delighted by her dedication but will also find a caring friend. If you have any further questions with regard to her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to call me. Honestly, Juan
