About Marlene

I'd describe my personality as creative and empowering! I am a great fit for seniors because I'm methodical in physical space as I cared for my grandmother (dementia) while I was pregnant. I was a paralegal, journalist and edited books while managing an international Bible college in my 20s. Although a lost art, engaging seniors keeps identities intact and thriving. I started caring for seniors when I was 12. I'm 55. I've been an RN for 13 years. My first nursing jobs (prior to acute care hospital) were in long term care and rehabilitation as a nurse/supervisor. In my spare time, I like to work out, read/write poetry, science fiction, garden, cook. I'm a new vegan! I enjoy live music. I also work out regularly and travel to check on my aging parents. I have two adult children (Virginia) and a grandson who lives in Canada with my older daughter. One thing you should know about me is I like to learn something new daily. My skills include assessing, dressing and recreation!
