About Maria

Hi! My name is Maria and I am a third-year psychology major and education minor at UC Davis. I enjoy working with children and I have been babysitting and working with children since I was 13 years old. I am currently a research assistant in the UC Davis Infant Cognition Lab and spent last summer as a Summer Teaching Fellow at Prospect Sierra School's summer education program during which I worked with children ages 4 to 12. In high school, I worked as a summer camp counselor at Cal Explorers sports and art camp and at Sarah's Science outdoor science camp during which I led groups of children ages 5 to 8 in various outdoor, sports, arts and science activities. I have also volunteered at two preschools in Berkeley: Step One Preschool and Berkeley Hills Nursery School. Some of my hobbies include painting, baking, and playing sports. I love to spend time outdoors and do fun crafts with the children I have babysat. I pride myself on being responsible, patient, kind, and encouraging.
