*In 1992, I began caring for seniors by tending to my grandmother in a facility that lacked compassion. Her decline and passing ignited my passion to ensure every senior is treated with dignity. I pursued CNA training in 1993 and 2000, and earned medical assisting certification in 2001. My career includes home care, work in dementia and skilled nursing facilities such as Feather River Hospital, hospice support, and care for individuals with mental disabilities, autism, quadriplegia, wound and bowel care, feeding tubes, ADLs, and medication management. I am dedicated to providing quality care as a mission inspired by grandmother's experience.**

Lorrie was an incredibly dedicated caregiver to my sister, who became a paraplegic after a car accident 30 years ago. She worked 12-hour shifts and rarely missed a single day—maybe just once the entire time she was there. Not only did she show up for her own shifts, but she also covered for others whenever needed. She was truly committed to taking care of my sister, no matter what. Lorrie always made sure my sister had good meals, and she was extremely patient with her, even when frustration got the best of her due to her condition. She didn’t just care for her physically—she was also great company. They would sit and talk for hours. She helped my sister with her hair, picked out clothes for her, and made sure she always felt comfortable and cared for. One of the things my sister loved most was spending time in the garden. Lorrie made sure she got outside as often as possible, listening carefully as my sister told her what to do to help her plants grow—and Lorrie would do it exactly as she asked. Lorrie’s responsibilities included bowel care, checking vitals, and wound care—demanding tasks that she handled with skill and compassion. Some of the more complex medical care was typically reserved for registered nurses, but Lorrie was eager to learn. She observed the RNs when they came once a week, absorbing everything they taught her. Over time, she took over all of my sister’s wound care, proving to be a quick learner with a natural ability for caregiving. As my sister’s health declined and required more intensive medical care, we had to bring in additional registered nurses. That was the only reason Lorrie is no longer working with us—otherwise, we would have kept her without question. Even now, she still checks in on us, and we check in on her. If you’re considering hiring Lorrie as a caregiver, I can’t recommend her highly enough. On a scale of one to five, she’s a solid five. She will go above and beyond to take care of your loved one, just like she did for my sister.
