I have recently retired from Pa Dept of Revenue and relocated to NC from Pgh Pa., but In the past 9 yrs I've ventured out doing what means the most to me and I've learned caring for others. I've cared for children and have recommendations but my utmost greatest accomplishment has been caring for my beloved mom. I devoted myself to her until June of '20 when she died at 91 yo. I know with all I learned from this experience I have more to give and receive from the elder community. I am bright, learn fast, caring, committed, compassionate, punctual, and will not disappoint. My most recent job was with a woman in her 60's who has cancer and major fall risk which I did in evenings and wk ends for over 3 yrs. I can get a great recommendation from her daughter. I hired Lorrie off of Care.com back in September of 2021 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. During the last 3.5 years of her working with my mom, she has become like family to us. She has provided excellent care for my mother who suffers from severe short term memory loss. She is kind, patient, reliable, and trustworthy. She has provided the following services for my family: Safely transferring my mother on/off commode chair, in/out of bed, in/out wheelchair, and in/out of vehicle using a walker. Engaging with my mom in a meaningful way through talking, reading, watching tv/movies, doing puzzles, playing games etc. Taking her out to lunch and shopping. Light meal preparation and assistance with tasks of daily living such as brushing teeth, washing face/hands etc. Lorrie is a dependable caregiver who is hardworking and compassionate. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a caregiver they can trust for their loved one.
