About Lisa

I'd describe my personality as patient, caring, and helpful. As a tutor, I love to see a child's confidence grow! I enjoy working 1:1 or in a small group to connect with students and work on specific areas of need. I'm looking for a job that is consistent, but flexible during the summer months and also has the opportunity to continue into the school year. I started tutoring when my own children were a little older and I was looking to supplement my income in the summer. This was 10 years ago. I have been teaching for 32 years. In my spare time, I like to read, go for walks with my dogs and family, and watch movies or mini series. One thing you should know about me is that I am a hard working, dedicated teacher! My skills include differentiating lessons to fit the specific needs of individual students. I also work hard to make lessons and learning meaningful and connected to students' interests. I help students build background knowledge to increase comprehension skills.
