Experience: 2 yrs
I was a companion for a Alzheimer client for three months till she passed away and currently a volunteer at an assisted living center as a recreation assistant. My responsibilities as a companion included; friend and companionship and ensuring safety for Alzheimer's Client. As a volunteer at the center, I assist the recreation dept. with administrative duties and teaching residents culinary, art and musical activities and other life enriching activities. I also assist the aides in escorting residents to and from their daily activities and offer friendship and companionship as well. In addition, I have over 2 yrs. experience as a dietary aide in rehabilitation & care centers and did housekeeping at a local hospital temporarily for a few months. I love working with the elderly. I think of them as my own grandparents. I enjoy spending time with them and listening to their stories of their life and their families including talking about their grandchildren and the war, etc.
