About Laurel

hey families!! My name is Laurel and I'm a First Year student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Ever since I was a pre-teen I had always wanted to be a babysitter. In my sophomore year of high school I was hired as an Early-Education Childcare worker for the YMCA after-school program in the small town of Easton, Massachusetts. In the first half of the year I worked with children k-2 everyday after school until their parents came to pick them up at the end of the day. I'd help them with the their homework, entertain them during snack time, play board games, and play sports outside. I came to love every personality and charm that every child had to offer. I loved the experience so much that I wrote my college essay on how as we grow older we lose "the special outlook children have on the world". As I have become a responsible adult, my friends still describe me as having the creativity and curiosity of a child. I cant wait to work for you!!
