Hi there! My name is Lara, and I began nannying and babysitting when I was in middle school and have enjoyed working with families ever since. My Grandfather is my best friend which also inspired a love and respect for working with older adults. I love to hear their stories and bring them some good company! My passion for helping people led me to study occupational therapy at UNC Chapel Hill where I studied a client-centered approach to sharing meaningful activities. I was a pediatric occupational therapist with Richmond County Schools before I started a business in 2021 as a certified nature and forest therapy guide. I've loved the opportunity to incorporate nature into my work with both older adults and children! My schedule is flexible with time to pursue opportunities for caregiving and getting to know your family. I have availability during the 2022 U. S. Women's Open to serve visitors to the area, as well as through the summer.

Lara cared for our 21mo son while we were in Pinehurst for two weeks and did such an amazing job. She was prepared with a list of nearby toddler activities and even brought some fun surprises for not only our son but our two older children. The two older kids were in camp most of the day, but Lara would engage with them in the early evenings and even switch off to watch them while I took our youngest, if needed. She prepped meals for the children during nap-time which was a huge help as well. A true team player. She put the safety of our son first, asking about allergies, our preferred swim safety, etc. She also connected with him in such a special way, getting at his level, going at his pace, and finding the beauty in all of his discoveries. After just a few days, my son would call "Lara, Lara" when she wasn't with us. Lara is a thoughtful, warm, reliable and responsible person, who genuinely cares for children. If we lived locally, I'd hire her permanently in a heartbeat.
