About Khalil

I have a master's degree in philosophy, and most of a doctorate in cultural studies with a focus on Black history. For the past two years, I have taught college classes in American Studies and worked as a writing coach. That's why I wanted to start tutoring: helping students felt far better than grading their work ever could! I can offer your student support with academic strategies; philosophy; US history; social studies; cultural studies; gender studies; and every kind of writing--from mastering spelling to brainstorming college essays, I like helping learners find their way through it all! While I am the lucky parent of a magnificent teenager, I enjoy working with learners of all ages. My tutoring style is respectful, curious, and learner-led. I have ADHD, and I especially love supporting neurodivergent and dyslexic students. In my spare time, I like reading, knitting, and playing D&D. My bearded dragon, Queen Lizzie, enjoys eating crickets and sunbathing.
