About Kevin

I'd describe my personality as enthusiastic, friendly, and engaging. I love tutoring because, like teaching, it has become my IKIGAI (Japanese concept of life's purpose and reason for being). I'm looking for a job that allows me to help students find joy in learning and expanding their world view through any topic or subject they are in need of assistance with. I have been teaching and tutoring for 6 years in the NYC DOE. In my spare time, I like to exercise, work on my photography, read, spend time in nature, and go for walks with my wife. One thing you should know about me is that I prioritize all of my students' comfort and state of mind going into our sessions. I am a strong believer that learning is most effective when we are feeling safe, comfortable, and at peace. My skills include: 1. High engagement (fun activities and discussions) 2. Friendly (warm and approachable) 3. Critical thinking (ability to connect topic and subject to the real world)
