I really enjoy working with children because they are active, inquisitive, and everyday is a new experience. To see a child smile is worth more than anything, it seriously makes my heart melt. Being able to provide for their well-being and happiness gives me a great sense of accomplishment. I believe that caring for children is a highly rewarding job. I take pride in doing a good job. I know I will likely have a big influence in your child's life, so I understand the importance of being a good role model. Children only grow up once. You want to give them all the opportunity, praise, love, lessons, and joy they need. I realize it can be daunting to find someone trustworthy to not only care for your child, but also to teach and guide them. I will strive to immerse them in comfortable, safe, fun, and creative environments. Children are sponges, and even during mundane tasks they are fascinated, and always learning. That's why it is important to be consistently involved. I believe in respecting a child's independence. I will frequently encourage or allow, them to make their own decisions. I am calm, patient, and easy going, but I am not a pushover. I will be firm if discipline is necessary, but I will also be reasonable, fair, and never mean! I will use teachable moments to help them learn about cause and effect, and how their behavior impacts others. I will encourage positive behavior through praise. I will role model kindness and cooperation in interactions, and prompt them to do the same. I will follow a general routine daily, not overly rigid, but consistent. I believe that children succeed more often from knowing what to expect. Most importantly, I will follow the parents guidelines in regards to their style, wants, expectations, and values, and I expect there to be open, and frequent communication to ensure I am on the same page. The most current nanny experience I have is caring for infants and toddlers. I have cared for older children in the past, and children with special needs. My child is just over 3 now, and she comes with me during the days. Some people may not be keen on the idea of a nanny bringing her own child, so I would like to mention a positive aspect, the socialization factor. Kids typically enjoy spending time with other kids, and sometimes learn social, cognitive, and motor skills more quickly from watching peers. I will spend the majority of my time interacting with the children, but they will also thrive in the company of friend.
