I worked at Stonybrook Hospital for 15 years, until my boy/girl twins began kindergarten when I decided to try home care for more flexibility for my family. I did home care for 2 1/2 years, during COVID, and then I decided that being a school nurse would best align with my children's school schedules. I have been a school nurse for the past 4 years in an elementary school in my school district at William Floyd. I am a single mom of 3 children, a soon to be 14-year-old boy, and 10-year-old girl/boy twins. My school nurse job has by far been my most rewarding role as a nurse.
