About Kayla

Hello! My name is Kayla and I have been an educator for 14 years! I have worked in a variety of areas of the field and have been an assistant director of a literacy clinic, a public school teacher in California, and have mentored new teachers. I have a Masters as an educational Specialist and a Bachelors in Child Development. My specialty areas are providing multi-sensory Literacy instruction using Orton-Gillingham and Wilson methodology. I also teach common core based lessons in all subject areas as well as social skills and executive functioning. My approach to education is that learning should be rooted in research based practices, reflect the each individual learner's strengths and interests, have real-world integration and application, be centered in equity, and encourage students to be independent thinkers and future leaders.
