Experience: 10 yrs
I've cared for several men and women in the past, between the ages of 70-93. They all needed intense care as they suffered from degenerative diseases/illnesses (Parkinson's, dementia, brain cancer). As it is typically very frustrating to have someone in your home, helping you with things you used to take care of yourself, I do my best to make my charges as comfortable and happy as possible. I would do light house work, laundry, prepare meals with attention to dietary restrictions, etc. I can drive to and from appointments as well as set them up/follow up with medical care, prescriptions, etc. I have worked with in-home physical therapists as part of the healing process and also have been in charge of coordinating medication.
