About Katie

I am a passionate educator excited to help you or your child grow! I currently teach 8th grade English in a local district. This is my first year living in the Rochester area (and I am greatly enjoying it!). For the past 6 years, I taught a variety of classes in English, writing, and reading intervention to 7th-12th graders at a public school in rural Western New York. Before starting my teaching career, I earned Bachelor's degrees in adolescent education and English, a Graduate Certificate in professional writing, and a Master's of Arts in English Literature. As an undergraduate college student I worked in my campus's learning center as a peer tutor, specializing in study skills. During my gradute work, I tutored students in writing across a variety of disciplines. I would love to talk more about your unique educational needs!
