About Kathlene

Hello, my name is Kathlene, you can call me Kate. I graduated LVN in 2020 & few months after, I moved to New York where I started a family. Because of the pandemic & huge life events, I have not gotten a chance to take the nursing board exam. I'm currently working full time and looking to transition to a temporary part-time job to dedicate time to study & later pursue nursing now that I'm back. My first experience caring for an elderly was in high-school & with my grandma who had dementia. During clinicals, I have worked with geriatrics at Skilled Nursing Facility, home care & hospital. My love for my grandparents & the fun and fulfilling encounters I had w/ geriatric patients made me realize how I would love to specialize in this age group. It's an honor for me to be able to serve them, provide support & help promote quality of life in their aging process. I have a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certificate, completing BLS, ACLS & PALS, waiting for HCA & will work on TB test soon.
