About Katherine

During my nine years in the classroom, I encountered a wide range of needs among my students. I have experience providing accommodations, tools, and assistive technology for students affected by Asperger's syndrome, Tourette syndrome, anxiety/depression, bi-polar disorder, ODD, and ADHD. I have also honed my classroom management skills; for students with behavioral challenges, I used individualized behavior plans with reward systems. For the majority of students, though, I could prevent most issues by providing clear expectations, engaging activities, and positive reinforcement. I have experience teaching PreK, Kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 6th grade.
