About Josie

Hi! My name is Josie. I'd describe myself as attentive, adaptable, patient, and outdoorsy. I like working with kids because I love seeing the world through the eyes of a child. I first started working with children by babysitting for neighbors in high school. I then went to college for art education and became involved in teaching. Since then, I have mentored elementary students, worked as a nanny, and taught K-12 classes as well as outdoor art education programs in middle schools. I currently work FT as a teacher assistant in a special ed school, so I have in-depth experience with Autistic and intellectually disabled children/teens. I like to bike, cook, garden, hike, camp, and make art in my spare time. I'm very passionate about artmaking and spending time in the great outdoors! I am especially interested in holistic childcare and the links between creative expression and childhood development. I am looking for part-time gigs as a babysitter/nanny.
