About Joan

I have worked with Literacy Volunteers of America for many years. I enjoy all forms of communication especially reading. Reading can be an adventure and take an individual anywhere in the world they wish to go. I love to instill this sense of unlimited possibilities in my students so they can learn to understand and appreciate the written word. I also love to do a bit of creative writing from time to time and have always been complimented for my descriptive abilities. My professional experience is working with developmentally disabled individuals as a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional. In this job I wrote the programs that were developed by the interdisciplinary team to maximize each persons potential. I was also responsible for the training of theses programs to staff. I tracked the progress and amended the programs when necessary to provide a quality measurement for each individual.
