About Nicki

I am a middle school ELA teacher with experience teaching reading, writing and test taking strategies. I'd describe my personality as outgoing, kind, fun I like tutoring because I enjoy teaching kids one on one and seeing growth from our work together. I'm looking for a job that is consistent, yet flexible. I homeschooled my children for 9 years and then went back to school for my education degree. I have worked one on one with students for about 12 years including my children and 5 years being paid as a para, tutor and now teacher. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and participate in church activities. I am a youth leader at our church. One thing you should know about me is I have the most experience with middle school aged children. I'm very understanding of their quirky personalities. My skills include encouraging reluctant readers, connecting with students to gain the buy in to succeed, and communicating with parents.
