About Jenel

I started working with kids when I was 6 years old. The adults were always quite busy so I learned how to take care of my siblings and cousins from a young age. From that point on, I grew a very strong passion for taking care of children! In my spare time, I like to read. There is honestly nothing better than kicking back and reading a good book. The best part is letting kids pick out their favorite character and allowing them to act out the book! This allows them to grow in reading too! Something you should know about me is that I love using creativity. Allowing kids to use their imagination helps with coordination in tasks and overall cooperation. Communication is a skill I use, especially if a child doesn't feel comfortable speaking to new people. I give them time to interact with flash cards or sign if nonverbal. I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with basic communication so I make sure to keep a safe environment open.
