About Jeanne

I have 15 years experience teaching college composition, developmental writing, and tutoring at an open admissions college where students had a wide variety of skills. Prior to that, I was an editor and electronic production specialist for print materials in educational publishing. When I first moved to Chicago, I was a Literacy Volunteer. Then I tutored in the writing lab at Elgin Community College for years. Tutoring is rewarding because students make progress and realize that they can be effective writers. I want to continue using my skills on a part-time basis. I miss seeing students after recently retiring. My skills include organizing ideas, transitioning between concepts, and research. I can do sentence structure, grammar and basic skills too. In my spare time, I'm a docent for the Chicago Architecture Center and conduct architectural boat tours on the Chicago River. I also love to spend time with my adult twin daughters.
