I am the oldest of 57 cousins, so I have over 30+ yrs experience with infants to tweens; but I'm not too old to be silly, make a pillow fort, play hot lava, catch lightening bugs, run through the sprinkler or play beauty parlor. Yes! Your kiddo can braid my hair! Yes, we can take field trips! After a day of games/crafts/playing we follow the dinner/bedtime schedule and then books & lights out, but not before I fulfill any requests to crawl under the bed or check in the closet for monsters. You will come home to find me sitting in the hallway so your children feel safe knowing I'm right around the corner if they need me. I am comfortable with dogs, BIG & small, and fish? Janessa is very thoughtful and caring to both the children she cares for and their parents. She leaves such thorough details about my son's day, what he ate, what he said, the games they played. It is so apparent that Janessa works hard at truly engaging the children she is caring for, takes a genuine interested in them, and considers them so fun and worthy of her time and energy. Our son is 22 months and he is somewhat language delayed. Janessa worked hard by talking to him constantly and giving him a chance to try to communicate to her. The first evening that Janessa came to our house, my son woke up the next morning and said two new words! I couldn't believe my ears! In addition, he woke up incredibly cheerful and playful and had new games that made it obvious that Janessa had spent so much time playing with him. When she had debriefed me, it was clear that she had engaged him in a sort of dialogue game that he really enjoyed! She is so energetic, cheerful and funny too!
