I have been working in childcare centers for 2 years. My classes have been primarily 1yo-3yo with some experience with infants and 4-year-olds. I have experience with classroom management, arranging schedules and activities. I have maintained professional and personal relationships with the families that have come through my class. I love the bonds I form with my students and getting to know them as individuals. Learning what makes them tick. How I can make them laugh, be engaged and feel safe. And who wouldn't love to be paid to play and be silly? As a bonus, I get to feel like I am contributing to our society by helping raise our future generations. I am sliding out of centers with the hopes of learning more about other age ranges and more about my industry and where I fit in it long-term.

Anna cared for my daughter for about a year in a group care setting. Even with 14 kids in the room, she endured each child received personalized care. She went above and beyond to meet my neurodivergent daughter’s needs. From providing her sensory input such as long, tight hugs to helping her flip her body, Anna knew what my daughter was seeking without her or us telling her. She also supported my daughter during certain challenges such as sitting at a table for meals. Anna sat behind her during meals to ensure she remained at the table, eating safely, but had room to wiggle her body. Anna’s gift is connecting with children and learning what their individual needs are and doing everything possible to meet them. As her supervisor, I also saw Anna’s behind-the-scenes passion for childcare through her eagerness to learn from trainings and staff meetings and her enthusiasm for trying new strategies in the classroom to provide an optimal learning environment for each student. I will always be grateful for the time my daughter was in her care!
