I became a CNA while in High School then worked as a HHA for 7 yrs. After starting a family I went to Cosmetology school and owned a hair salon for 14 yrs. After raising my sons, I traveled with my husband for his job and while living in NJ in 2019, I decided to become a Yoga Teacher. During this time, the school's owner's father broke his hip. I offered to help him once he returned home. I hadn't worked as a HHA for many years, but these skills are natural to me. I helped with personal care, his PT exercises, appointment transportation, etc. I gave him haircuts and we also did Chair Yoga! It was wonderful seeing him improve.
