About Frances

I have more than 20 years of experience as an educator, having taught 5th through 12th graders, as well as having taught graduate students at Fontbonne College, Tarkio College, Sterling College, and Southwest Baptist University. I have also taught undergraduate students at St. Charles County Community College. Currently, I teach English grammar and literature, poetry, reading, algebra, science, and history at KVC Academy in St. James, MO. Our students have a wide range of learning challenges, and I design my curriculum to meet the individual needs of my students. I get them to engage in the learning process by focusing on their strengths. I believe learning should be enjoyable, not a struggle. For example, to teach students how to summarize and understand the main idea of a story, we develop puppet shows based on engaging stories and plays. We have also published poetry newsletters. Math, science, and history also include fun activities and safe, kitchen experiments.
