About Erica

I have always had a special connection with senior citizens, but my passion for working with them began around age 13. Throughout high school, I volunteered through my local senior citizen center, making house calls, providing companionship, reading to the blind, etc. For two years, I regularly provided in-home care and companionship for a woman with early-onset Alzheimer's, forming an incredible bond and unforgettable memories with her. I then went on to work in the Alzheimer's unit at a Jewish Community Center, giving hand-massages and facilitating in recreational activities for the residents. Over this last summer, I was a Lifestyle Intern at the Vi at Palo Alto, assisting in various activities and events for the residents - I even held my very own "Intro to iPad" class. I believe that every senior citizen has so much knowledge and wisdom that they not only want to pass down, but need to pass down to my generation, and it is truly an honor to be on the receiving end of it.
