About Emma

Hello, there! I go by Griffy (they/them), and I'm a sweet, energetic, and experienced caregiver and postpartum doula-in-training. I taught special education in California for 3 years, where I worked with students aged 11-14 with a range of intellectual, learning, and emotional disabilities. More recently I was a co-founder and caregiver for a childcare cooperative in Minneapolis. I have experience caring solo for infants as young as 2 weeks old and am up-to-date with my CPR (for infants, children, and adults) and First Aid training. I recently moved to NYC to start City College's Fiction Writing MFA. My schedule is flexible and I can travel to any borough! I'm looking for jobs that allow for the consistency I feel is important for bonds that let children feel safe and seen. My skills include creative play (I like to bring art materials and invent games), infant sleep and feeding, and building safe, appropriate bonds with children with disabilities and special needs.
