About Emily

I have been a teacher for 6 years. I am currently teaching first grade, but have also taught students in grades K-5 and even college students in prior years. In my career, I have gained a passion for teaching reading. Reading is the key that unlocks learning and I believe that every child holds that key! To become highly qualified, I went back to school to not only earn a masters degree in reading, but also an Orton Gillingham certification, the highest level of reading intervention certification. Since then, I have worked part-time at a learning studio in Cohasset, tutoring individual students online with various profiles, including students with dyslexia through Orton Gillingham and also students just wanting enrichment. I have also done in-person tutoring at my school through an organization called Springboard. Having a range of experiences in ages, profiles and contexts makes me confident that I will be able to help your child feel successful and unlock their potential!
