About Elba

I have a diverse and extensive experience caring for children. I started taking care of kids when I was 13 years old, and I was in-charge of taking care of my younger relatives. Since then, I developed an enormous interest in children and teens. I became invested in their personal development, values, and self-esteem. In addition to taking care of my family members' kids, I took care of my three kids (all different age group from toddler to teenagers). This was the main experience that taught me how to care for kids since they are born and develop through life. In addition, I developed a strong sense of protection and responsibility, as I was a single mom. I have also cared for kids who are undergoing difficult health circumstances. For example, I cared for a child who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis for 10 years. Through this experience, I learned how to administer medicine responsibly. I also learned how to actively show genuine love, compassion, and affection. In the past couple of years, I have cared for a diverse population of kids and teens. For example, I have worked with newborns, siblings, and twins (age of 1-2 years). This has allowed me to effectively adapt to different kids' personalities. I understand each kid has different needs and expectations, and I try my best to meet these. In these past 20 years of experience taking care of kids, I can guarantee a care of quality to families. This is because I am always trying my best to improve myself as caregiver. I love what I do and I have a very flexible schedule. I also speak English and Spanish fluently. I am aware that some families are interested in their children becoming bilingual. Thus, I am open to speaking and teachings Spanish to kids if the parents desire that.
