Diego became my caregiver in 2018 when he lived in WI. As sick as I was, I did not want anyone's help, but my wife was at her wits end with working full-time and having to take care of me. Enter Diego. His personality and the fact that he made it clear that he was honestly there to help me and to also help make sure I maintained my dignity throughout really stood out. We quickly became friends and gradually my health started to improve. As my health improved, we were able to get me outside for exercise and outings. With Diego's help, my health improved so much that I was able to return work and go to school to earn a degree. I have renamed him San (Saint) Diego because getting healthy again was nothing short of miraculous. The downside of getting healthy was that I no longer qualified for Diego to come to help anymore. My grandparents are turning 95 this year and while they still live at home, they need a lot of help. I wish Diego still lived in WI so he could be their caregiver. This isn't just a job for Diego, this is his calling. He enjoys what he does and it definitely shows by the incredible job that he does.
