About Diana

For almost two years during college I had the pleasure of working at South Dakota Achieve which is an agency for disabled adults. Age range is 18 to senior citizens with a wide range of disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Alzheimer' disease and Dementia, MR or General Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Aphasia due to a Stroke, along with many different physical disabilities. I've worked with individuals who need wheelchairs, walkers, communication speech devices such as a DynaVox, letter board, and sign language. I am trained to drive a wheelchair bus. I am also trained in using a lift to assist people in and out of bed. I assisted many individuals with medications, grocery shopping, finances, cooking and keeping them company. During the two years I was employed with South Dakota Achieve I learned skills that are valuable and I enjoyed getting to know individuals. I was passionate about assisting them in achieving life goals and teaching them life skills.
