I recently retired as a Longs pharmacy technician after 38 years of service and decided to provide care through Care. com to supplement my Social Security income. It was during those years while aging alongside the elderly customers served, I developed my desire to help them. Bonding with a few of the "regular" senior customers, I realized there was a need in the community to help those seniors who had limited family support especially those that lived alone. I want to help those seniors. I am willing to provide transportation for shopping/short excursion/sightseeing, lite housework, as well as yardwork/gardening alongside the companionship. For over 10 years I helped care for my mother-in-law who had dementia alongside her 24 hour caregivers. I currently and for the past 2 years, help a 100-year-old woman on an on call basis with lite housekeeping & companionship. Since joining Care. com, I've cared for a client who had a stroke with aphasia & driving client to doctor appointments
