About Colleen

I'd describe my personality as kind, empathetic and intelligent. I like tutoring because I am a teacher and have been for several years. I enjoy tutoring because there's nothing like seeing a student understanding what has been holding them back for so long. I love to see a kids' anxiety turn to confidence. I'm looking for a job that has a child/student in need for some extra help with either ELA or Reading. I am a certified English Teacher 5-12. In my spare time, I like to sing and write songs. One thing you should know about me is I am a dedicated teacher who has taught for several years as a Special Education Teacher, so I understand the many learning disabilities My skills include IEP's, skill building and confidence building. I understand the IEP process and have been writing goals for students for years. If your child is on an I EP, it may be beneficial to have someone that understands them completely to better set the child up to make progress and build confidence.
