About Katrina

I'd describe my personality as joyful, caring, and detail oriented. I like tutoring because I enjoy helping students make real progress. I'm looking for a job where I can help children feel confident in their abilities and find joy in reading and writing. I started tutoring in college, and have 10 years of teaching experience in grades 5-8. I am a certified reading specialist. I have Wilson Reading and Orton Gillingham training- which means I have a lot of experience in phonics for young children and for older students who have fallen behind. My 10 years of teaching experience also prepare me to help students with comprehension struggles and writing needs.
