About Christopher

Hi! I'm Chris and I am a NYS Certified Special Education Teacher. I currently teach ELA to high school aged students with severe and profound disabilities for the past 6 years. I also have taught as young as kindergarten and many of the early subject materials. My favorite topics to teach are Shakespeare, poetry, argumentative writing, Novel units, short stories among many others. I pride myself on my ability break down heavy and complex material and using various strategies to make texts more accessible to different learners. My favorite part of my job is the light-bulb moment when a kid finally figures it out. Being a part of seeing a student grow and become more empowered is what keeps me coming back. In my spare time, I lift very heavy things and train as a competitive power-lifter.
