About Alissa

Hi! I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Education and love working with young learners. Some of my favorite memories from my career so far are from my two years working as a teaching assistant at an elementary school, both in special education and ESL education. One of the things I love the most about teaching is forming strong bonds with students by always remaining open, empathetic, getting to know their interests, and building relationships of trust. I've found that from these positive connections come so many more "Aha!" moments as students feel comfortable with me and more confident in their abilities. I am also dedicated to fostering joy as a part of the learning process. Fun is just as important as anything else and I love incorporating games into my teaching!
