About Chandler

Hey, I'm Chan! I am 25 years old. I enjoy playing music, going outside, playing sports, and watching movies. I live on my own and I have a car. I have been working with children for about 5 years. I make good use of playful engagement, behavior matching, and patience. I am firm but direct, and want to encourage a child to use their voice and creativity to own their story and identity. Started this work in 2019 touring with an organization. I worked for their preteen and middle-school tour onstage and lead students in games, skits, and music. I work for a nonprofit with a trauma-informed focus in childcare. We place kids in what we call communities of belonging, where we do activities ranging from fun crafts, to self-regulation, to social-emotional work. The model we use is called Trauma Competency Care; a different way of responding to big behaviors in children. I work in our K-3 group with 12 kids I am CPR certified, and trained in TCC.
