About Catherine

I'd describe my personality as compassionate, engaged, and sincere. I like tutoring because I love helping young people discover the joys of the world, while improving their sense of self confidence and ability to persevere through problem solving. I'm looking for a job that allows me to fulfill the joy I got from teaching middle school science for 3 years without the overwhelming effects of oversized classrooms and lack of resources. I graduated from UW Madison with my BS in education 4 years ago, with licenses in grades 1-8, ESL, and earth sciences education. In my spare time, I like to be outside as much as possible, spend time with my cat, Spark Plug, and connect with friends and loved ones. One thing you should know about me is I have a genuine, sincere, and dedicated passion to bringing joy into learning. My skills include emotional co-regulation, art and movement based learning strategies, and sincere investment in the wellbeing of the student I am working with.
