About Catalina

I have 7 years of experience in art education and over 15 years of experience being an artist. 5 of those years have been professional full-time self employed. I have a few different specialties when it comes to teaching art, all of them done in a fun and engaging way. The first one is my ability to teach high-level skills to students of all ages like fine observational skills and drawing in 3D. The 2nd is creating a trauma and mental health-informed environment where students learn to use art as a means of processing emotions and grounding themselves. Lastly, for older students, my curriculum focuses on college and career readiness, with an emphasis on admission into the top art schools in the country. I draw from my own experience with the admissions process, as well as 5 years experience working in the admissions office of my undergrad as a student/alumni ambassador. Overall, I'm looking forward to all the different tutoring possibilities!
