About Micaela

I enjoy helping students get excited about learning and gaining academic confidence. I started working as a tutor over two years ago through the Institute of Transformative Education at SDSU. I worked as an in-classroom math and science tutor at middle and high schools. The student's well-being is my top priority. I understand learning disabilities and life circumstances can impact focus and motivation. I will remain patient and understanding. My skills include patience, adaptive teaching, and positivity. Students learn at different paces. Taking time on foundational concepts leads to in-depth understanding and critical thinking skills. Adaptive approaches to tutoring use various learning styles to find what works best for the student. I have experience in several learning styles and helping students apply them when studying independently. Positive reinforcement encourages academic confidence in students. Students can become more motivated to learn in class and independently.
