I've always had a soft spot for seniors. I've never been paid before to take care of seniors, I've always volunteered to do it. Starting out when I was younger being a companion to my great grandmother. She lived with my grandmother, so when my grandmother needed to do errands I would stay behind with her. She taught me how to play rummy (no she wouldn't dare let me win), we watched and sang along . I was a companion to an older family friend, I would also clean her house and do errands for her. Most recently and more in depth care was my grandmother who suffered with dementia. During Covid it was very hard to find aides etc. At first it was more companion care, house work, cooking, errands, transportation to and from doctors. Then as she declined adding personal care, medication, feeding. I've been in your shoes wanting our loved one to stay in their home but needing support to help that to be successful.
