About Brett

I am a 24-year-old East Harlem-based caretaker and creative with a background in education. I love working with kids of all ages, and am passionate about both play and learning. As an educator, I have taught at the middle school and college levels, specifically in creative writing. I think that fostering creativity is a vital part of caretaking, and helping children learn to love making things is very important to me. I seek to create a nurturing, fun atmosphere. I believe in close, regular communication with parents, and will happily adapt my style to match you and your children's personal needs. In May, I will be receiving my Master's in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. I am a recipient of their Faculty Recognition Fellowship. In terms of the smaller stuff: I love pets (including and especially my cat Pigeon), I am a non-smoker, and I can cook and bake--I was, in fact, the second-place winner of my hometown's pie baking contest for five years in a row.
