About Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophie, and I am an engaged caretaker with over 10 years of experience. My approach to caretaking is informed by my love for dance and passion for equitable education. Before attending Hunter College I danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet as a professional division student. Since graduating from Hunter College last spring, I have joined Community Word Project's Teaching Artist Program--- a course which aims to translate creative process into educational practice through social-justice oriented methodologies. With intentions of pursuing a career in teaching/ dance movement therapy, I value curiosity, open mindedness, and creative self-expression! Lastly, I bring to the role of caretaker a genuine appreciation for kids and their vibrant imaginations-- that said, if I sound like a good fit, I would love to chat more about how I might be of help to your family.
