About Anja

Hello! I am an Ashland local, just moving back from Portland after finishing my studies in Herbal Medicine there. I am settled here for a while and ideally seeking a long term position with a like-minded family. I was raised in a Waldorf/Montessori style home and much of my philosophy for childcare derives from witnessing my mother teaching alternative techniques in K-8. I like to focus on play based learning, allowing some time for uninterrupted play and other time for engaged creative activities. I like to spend time outdoors and am comfortable with pets as well as teaching kids about plants and wildlife and if they're open to it, even yoga. I am happy to help with pick up/drop off and chaperoning activities and playdates. I have experience with child care in a range of home environments as well as food prep, cleaning up around the house, and driving with littles.
