I started my career with owning 5 mommy and me Gymboree franchise locations. Afterwards I went off on my own and built a large 10, 000 sq. ft. day care with accredited school programs. This consisted of newborns, toddler classes, pre-school nursery, kindergarten and 1st grade classes. We had over 100 children and 27 teachers on staff at any given time. We also offered parent/child programs and then birthday parties which were held on the weekends. After 20 years when my 5 biological children matured, I decided to retire. That didn't last very long. Since my husband and I are not ready to retire, we are continuing to build our nest egg. I then started a business working in my husband's medical office doing 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound scans for pregnant moms. But I found that I miss working with children and now decided to also babysit in the evenings. In addition, I will be able to help with meals and laundry.
