About Amanda

Hi! I'm Amanda and I have worked with children for over 10 years. While earning my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Spanish, I worked as a nanny during the school year and as a tutor in the summer. After graduating in 2014, I began working on my masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and my Reading Specialist Endorsement while continuing to work as a tutor in the summer. Upon graduating in 2016, I married my high school sweetheart and began working as a teacher in the elementary school setting. Throughout this time, I consistently worked as a tutor in the summers to help students mitigate the learning gap often created during the summer break. For the last two years, I have worked as an Online Critical Reading Instructor for Johns Hopkins CTY. My husband and I recently moved to the Durango area. We have two dogs and love the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, skiing, and kayaking. I am looking forward to finding opportunities to work with students this summer!
